The surface here is covered with fine black volcanic ash, and strong winds carrying dust are the norm. During the long hike to the plane wreckage on the black sand beach, the sky was very gloomy. The horizontal reflective strip provides clear visibility, a practical safety design for desolate areas.

Glacier hiking requires carrying a helmet, crampons, and an ice axe, while the backpack is filled with warm clothes, food, and water. Walking on heavily crevassed and uneven ice requires frequent posture changes.

The weather remained unstable, often alternating between sunshine and showers within minutes. Facing sudden rain, the water-repellent surface treatment worked perfectly; water droplets naturally rolled off, keeping the camera and passport inside completely dry.
